New Hanover County is seeking a motivated Development Review Planner in the Planning and Land Use department. This position works to ensure consistent and proper application of the County development ordinances to projects submitted to the Planning and Land Use Department for review and permitting. It requires familiarity with the different stages of the zoning and subdivision application processes and those applications that are subject to the building permit process. Duties include reviewing development proposals and site plans to ensure compliance with plans, zoning codes, flood codes, and related regulations; performing with considerable independence within the scope of professional methods and procedures; conducting field investigations to ensure compliance with the development ordinance requirements; interacting with the public by responding to inquiries related to development regulations; resolving citizen issues; and communica...
