Housing First works with people experiencing chronic homelessness. The priority is to move people into decent housing and provide wrap‑around services to support their success. The goal of Housing First is to end homelessness, not to manage it. Housing First Auckland is a collective of five organisations working together to ensure homelessness in Tāmaki Makaurau is rare, brief and non‑recurring. We take a Collective Impact approach, aiming to achieve social and structural changes by working together. The Collective is supported by a strong Backbone team. The Backbone team provides infrastructure and resources for Housing First Auckland’s shared model approach, and for powering‑up our collective efforts in a coordinated and structured way.
