The Certified Scrub Technician assists in providing care to patients during the intra-operative phase, functioning primarily in the scrub role and assisting in the circulating role. Responsible for aseptic technique in the preparation of supplies and equipment. Expertise in safety principles, sterile technique, and universal precautions. Perform all scrub technologist functions for all cases done in surgery.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Director of Perioperative Services, the CST is responsible for the overall quality of surgical care and ensures that sufficient and properly prepared operating rooms are prepared and ready for cases each day. These responsibilities include but are not limited to:
