The New York County District Attorney's Office (DANY) has an opening for a Cryptocurrency Analyst in its Cyber Crime Bureau. CCB is committed to protecting the public by combating sophisticated cybercrime and identity theft schemes in Manhattan and worldwide. CCB prosecutes cases involving check and payment card fraud, network intrusions, theft of digital assets, online trafficking of child sexual abuse material, and cyber-stalking, as well as white-collar crimes involving money laundering and threats to financial institutions. In this position, the Analyst is primarily responsible for CCBβs blockchain analysis assignments, and trains and assists other analysts in performing this type of analysis as well.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Evaluating complaints related to cryptocurrency theft for possible investigation.
- Conducting analysis of cryptocurrency transactions using both open-source and third-party tools.
