Job Description

Our client is seeking an Automation & Controls Specialist to join their Design Team. This role turns client requirements into fully engineered automated machinery, covering the full lifecycle: concept, equipment selection, electrical design, PLC/HMI programming, and commissioning support. Work spans virtually every industrial sector in Ontario.

  • Develop automation concepts, including equipment selection and control architecture (site visits as required)
  • Produce electrical designs, schematics, and panel layouts for custom machinery
  • Develop PLC and HMI programs to project standards
  • Collaborate with mechanical designers, electricians, and shop personnel through build, integration, and testing
  • Provide field service: troubleshooting and optimization of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and vision systems
  • Participate in quoting, design reviews, risk assessments, and project planning
  • Troubleshoot industrial networks
