Chief Rock Engineer

Our client, an International Mining House, has an exciting opportunity for a Chief Rock Engineer to join their dynamic organization.

Duties & Responsibilities Responsible for the planning of mine layouts and stopping sequences, control of the incidence of rock bursts, design and implementation of all support standards. Ensure long-term stability over stoping of haulages, crosscuts, and inclined shafts, shaft pillar design and extraction plans, and support for main excavations, pump chambers, water dams, settlers, hoist chambers. Organization of introductory rock mechanics courses for mine production officials and identification of Rock Engineering and Strata Control best practices. Discover and implement support and design projects to improve return on investment, Risk, Health, and Environmental procedures, and codes of practice.
