Job Description
**Summary:**
Seasonal Contract position supporting the National Science Foundation managed United States Antarctic Program as part of the Antarctic Support Contract (ASC). Carpenter Apprentices will perform maintenance or construction work, or any combination thereof, under the supervision of the Carpenter Foreman. Tasking is based on employeeβs prior work experience and ASC schedule requirements.
**Position Responsibilities (not all inclusive):**
+ Perform rough framing and finish carpentry utilizing a variety of materials and tools
+ Assist Carpenters with various carpentry tasks
+ Performs construction related tasks in and around undeveloped and remote areas as well as in adverse conditions
+ Track material usage and update departmental inventory records
+ Coordinate materials and support from other departments
+ Perform tasks requiring repeated heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, digging, hauling, standing, walkin...
