Position Summary/Description:
The Department of Surgery at the University of North Carolina is seeking applications for an experienced board certified full-time academic cardiac surgeon to join our Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery. This individual will serve as the system-wide clinical and strategic leader for Cardiac Surgery within the UNC Health Heart & Vascular Service Line ( HVSL ). The Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery is among 9 clinical divisions in the Dept. of Surgery. The Division currently includes 10 faculty members among three sections: adult cardiac surgery, congenital cardiac surgery, and thoracic surgery. The faculty members in the Section of Adult Cardiac Surgery provide a broad array of clinical services in order to provide the highest quality care for the full spectrum of cardiac surgery including adult cardiac surgery, cardiac transplantation and mechanical circulatory support.
