Overview

The Building Performance and Engineering team is responsible for the regulatory stewardship of the Building Code, including setting and maintaining performance requirements, developing compliance pathways, and providing technical guidance. The team also supports the wider building system programme by offering expert advice and assisting with enquiries and investigations into systemic building performance issues.

Within this function, the Engineering team leads the development and review of Building Code performance requirements and ensures supporting documents—such as Acceptable Solutions and Verification Methods—remain fit for purpose.
