Job Description

Assists in providing sanitization and sterilization of caging and associated equipment required for laboratory animal housing and care; provision of clean housing, access to food and environmental enrichment of the animals. Identifies and reports injured and ill animals. Assists in responding as essential personnel for declared disasters.

Job Responsibility

+ Processes and assembles caging and equipment in preparation for sanitizing; ensure no live animals remain in caging before sanitizing.
+ Logs information pertinent to cage and equipment to ensure proper maintenance.
+ Identifies and notifies veterinary staff of ill or injured animals.
+ Provides research-specific specialized diets, treated water, and specialized housing arrangements, when needed; records related information as required by approved procedures.
