**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:**
+ Working in integrative diagnostics focusing on digital pathology, informatics and AI in the John Sealy Diagnostic Center within the department of Pathology. Director of Translational Pathology and Diagnostic Innovation: Assay Development & Innovation
+ Provide leadership to design, develop, and optimize cutting-edge molecular diagnostic assays:
+ Liquid biopsy assays for solid tumors and hematological malignancies o NGS-based panels, digital PCR assays, and immunoassay platforms
+ Multiplex assays for multi-organism detection (infectious disease applications)
+ Drive innovation by evaluating and implementing emerging technologies (e.g., ultra-sensitive sequencing, methylation-based assays, single-cell and spatial approaches)
+ Develop SOPs, QC/QA frameworks, ...
