Position Summary


Liberal Studies is seeking a dynamic Assistant Director to join Academic and Faculty Affairs. This individual will manage course scheduling decisions and provide year-round administrative support for all classes in both Liberal Studies(LS) and Global Liberal Studies(GLS), including determination of faculty teaching assignments and the number and type of each course to offer. Impacts approximately 2,800 LS undergraduates enrolled in 600+ classes per academic year (including fall, spring, summer, and J-term), in both the 2-year Core Program and 4-year GLS B.A. Program. Assess course offering demands and trends via review of faculty teaching loads and course enrollment; Determine areas of need for adjunct hiring by reviewing staffing and curricular offerings each semester, including summer; Collaborate with Associate Director of Academic and Faculty Affairs to facilitate adjunct hiring.
