Area Caretaker – 1 position on the South Area of Birmingham. Grade B (£28,598 – £34,434). Consultation grade subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review. Working 36.5 hours per week. Permanent.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the management of both high and low‑rise properties within a designated area.
• Lead a small team responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness in communal areas of flatted accommodation, promptly reporting necessary repairs, and ensuring properties remain hazard‑free and fully compliant with Health & Safety regulations.
• Supervise estate caretakers on a day‑to‑day basis (one‑to‑one meetings, return‑to‑work interviews, identifying training needs, setting targets, undertaking risk assessments, and dealing with performance issues).
• Carry out daily patrols of the neighbourhood to improve and help maintain kerb appeal – fly‑tipping.
