Role: Applied Scientist – Early-Stage Startup | EU-Funded R&D Project (PT2030)

We're a biotech company and we are seeking a dynamic and motivated Applied Scientist to join an early-stage startup implementing an EU-funded R&D project under Portugal 2030 (PT2030) which consists in translating research into scalable, real-world applications in regenerative medicine.

Location: (Porto / In-person)

Contract: 18 months fixed-term contract (project-based) – compensation package at junior researcher level

Scope of the role

The Applied Scientist will be responsible for conducting and supporting preclinical in vivo validation studies in rats and sheep, contributing to the objectives of the funded project in advancing intervertebral disc regeneration and the treatment of low back pain, both forcanine and human patients.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute in vivo rodent validation experiments according to approved protocols.
