Job Description
As a Diesel Mechanic with Waste Connections, your primary responsibility is to keep our fleet operating safely and efficiently. Key duties include:
+ Performing preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel trucks and heavy equipment
+ Troubleshooting and repairing electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems
+ Utilizing vehicle computer diagnostic systems to identify failures and program engine and vehicle control modules
+ Responding to road calls and emergency repairs as needed
+ Reviewing, completing, or assigning repairs based on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs)
+ Completing maintenance documentation using fleet maintenance software
+ Test driving vehicles before and after repairs to ensure proper operation
+ Supporting team members with repairs and troubleshooting when needed
+ Maintaining professional, courteous communication with drivers and coworkers
